How to use Google Lens

Search, shop, translate, and more with Google Lens

Google Lens is a powerful tool that identifies objects in a photo and suggests relevant results or actions.

You don't need to install the Play Store app to use Lens, but it's the only way to get the app alone on your home screen.

The Google Search widget contains a dedicated Lens button. Tap the Lens button to open the app.

Google Lens works with a screenshot or photo. The app is split into two halves by default.

You can expand the bottom half to show your photos. Here, you can tap an image to let Lens work its magic.

Point your camera at something and tap the shutter button.

Google Lens identifies objects and marks them with a white dot. Tap one of these dots to show search results
