PGP internship placement at IIM Kozhikode stands at 100%; highest stipend of Rs 6.47 lakh

IIM Kozhikode offered Rs 6.47 lakhs for its internship program to 450 students this season, with 122 recruiters offering internships during this season.
As part of the summer internship recruitment drive, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode achieved 100 percent placements for its two-year full-time PGP program. In comparison to last year, the average stipend has increased by 25 percent. The median and mean stipends for this year are Rs 2.5 lakhs.

Five41 students were offered internships in this season by 122 recruiters with the highest stipend of Rs 6.47 lakhs. With an average of 27 months of rich and diverse pre-MBA work experience, the candidates appearing for this year’s recruitment drive were 47 percent women and 45 percent non-engineering candidates. The average stipend increased by 27 percent this year as 18 percent of the offers came from the financial sector.

The major financial institutions that offered internships to students included Barclays, CitiBank, Credit Suisse, CRISIL, HSBC Securities, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, Nomura, Standard Chartered, TresVista, Yes Bank, among others.

In addition, 24 percent of sales and marketing positions were offered with an average stipend increase of 39 percent with recruiters like Asian Paints, Astrazeneca, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Consumer Care, BP Castrol, Coca Cola, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, HUL, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, PepsiCo, and others.

Around 26 percent of the total offers were rolled out by the consulting cluster, with 13 percent coming from the information technology and analytics cluster.

I’m Beside You and Suzuki Japan participated in the placement season, providing international opportunities. The event also featured leading companies such as Disney Hotstar, Mercedes-Benz and Sony Pictures Network India participating in multiple roles such as Strategy, Product Management and Marketing.

Consulting

This season, the consulting cluster rolled out 26% of offers. Accenture Strategy, Bain & Company, BCG, Deloitte, Everest Group, EY, EY-Parthenon, GEP, KPMG, PwC, and Synergy Consulting are some of the long-term collaborative recruiters in this domain that took part.

The finance sector

A 27% increase in average stipend accompanied an 18% increase in financial sector offers this year. Among the financial institutions that offered the most offers were Barclays, CitiBank, Credit Suisse, CRISIL, HSBC Securities, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, Nomura, SBI Capital Markets, Standard Chartered, TresVista, and Yes Bank.

PE/VC roles have been offered by top recruiters such as British International Investments, GEF Partners, Piramal Alternatives, and TRG, while corporate and investment banking roles have been offered by Deutsche Bank, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, and JP Morgan Chase & Company, IIM Kozhikode said.

Operations and General Management

An estimated 12% of all offers were for General Management and Operations. A number of prestigious IIM Kozhikode conglomerates have hired students for Management Leadership programs, including the Adani Group, Aditya Birla Group, Capgemini, CK Birla Group, JSW, Mahindra, Reliance, and Tata Administrative Services. Amazon, Flipkart, Maersk, and Uber, on the other hand, have also extended operational offers.

Sales and Marketing

Sales and Marketing witnessed 24% offers made with an increase of 39% in the average stipend from major recruiters such as Asian Paints, Astrazeneca, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Consumer Care, BP Castrol, Coca Cola, Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, HUL, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, PepsiCo, Pidilite, Reckitt, RPG, ReNew Power, Samsung, Tata Consumer Products, Tata Play, and Tata Steel showing their confidence in the institute’s talent pool.

Information Technology and Analytics

Recruiters such as American Express, Big Basket, CarDekho, Media.Net, Mercedes Benz, Optum, Titan, Vodafone Idea, Walmart Labs, and Wipro, combined with marquee recruiters, contributed 13% of the total offers to the Information Technology and Analytics cluster. IIM Kozhikode director Debashis Chatterjee said, “The key highlight of this placement season was the involvement of private equity and fund management firms.

IIMK Placement Committee and students deserve great appreciation for their outstanding performance.” Among the 35 recruiters who participated in the summer placement process this year were ArcelorMittal, Bajaj Consumer Care, Barclays, Big Basket, BP Castrol, Coromandel International, Haleon, Jubilant FoodWorks, Justdial, MagicBricks, Media.Net, Newzera, PUMA, ReNew Power and Tata Consumer Products.
